This is a running series of images that I’ve compiled over the span of 2 or so years as a personal project. I enjoy recording small moments in time and capturing scenes, objects and feelings in my everyday life that would otherwise be overlooked. To bring my attention to what may seem mundane or insignificant in the long run, is a concept that I believe could stretch this project out for a long time. It’s more or less my way of noticing how beautiful life really is and honouring my surroundings in a creative, meaningful and healthy way.
The title of this project derives from the fact that I have lived so many places in my life that I often find myself rerooting, whether is moving house or moving country but also in a more spiritual sense as I also often find myself moving through phases, feelings and headspaces. As I’m quite a sentimental person, to be able to capture moments in a picture is like preserving a memory in a little capsule. To collect these memories is my way of not forgetting what my surroundings have looked like, what feelings I’ve felt and what memories I have of a specific time and place.
The photos intentionally never turn out like the original, as through Photoshop I produce a vivid, saturated, moody, mysterious atmosphere as this aesthetic is what I always seem to gravitate towards. I mainly shoot on my Canon 77D 18-55mm but it’s more about the editing process for this set of images.
